Dutch-Turkish psych-rock outfit Altín Gün brings their funky, hypnotic take on Anatolian folk to Showbox SoDo on Tuesday, September 8, with Alex Maas (frontman of The Black Angels) opening. If you want to hear what happens when Amsterdam musicians dig into Turkish traditional music and filter it through layers of psychedelic rock and funk, this is the thing.

    Altın Gün (meaning Golden Day in Turkish also a pun to Altın Günü (Gold day) a traditional social gathering day) is a Dutch-Turkish psychedelic rock, also known as Anatolian rock, band from Amsterdam. It was founded by bassist Jasper Verhulst in 2016 when he posted an ad on Facebook looking for Turkish musicians.
