About Showout
Showout is every event in Seattle, on one calendar.
Concerts, art openings, comedy, food festivals, night markets, readings, raves, meteor showers — if it's happening in this city, it should be findable in one place. That place didn't exist, so we built it.
Why it exists
Showout was built by one person who kept finding out about great events the day after they happened. Not because the events were hidden — they were on a venue calendar somewhere, or in a newsletter, or on a flyer taped to a pole. The information existed; it was just scattered across hundreds of places nobody has time to check.
The big platforms don't solve this. They show you the events with marketing budgets, the ones your friends already clicked on, the ones an algorithm thinks will keep you scrolling. The neighborhood gallery opening and the DIY show in a basement don't stand a chance.
How it works
Software reads hundreds of public sources every day — venue calendars, promoter pages, newsletters, city listings — and assembles them into one clean calendar. Duplicates get merged, dates get verified, and anything suspicious gets checked before it's published. You can read more about that on the editors page.
Showout is free for the people using it to find things to do. It's supported by a few local businesses that want you to have a good time. There's no pay-to-play: nobody can buy their way to the top of the calendar, and events are never buried because nobody paid for them.
Where it works
Seattle today. More cities when Seattle is great. If you want Showout where you live, tell us your city — the request list genuinely shapes what comes next.
If you believe what we believe, read the manifesto.
