  Nancy Singleton Hachisu is a California native and Stanford graduate who has lived on an organic Japanese farm in rural Saitama since 1988. A James Beard Award-winning food writer and cookbook author, she is a champion of Japanese artisanal ingredients and traditional food preservation methods. She regularly appears in Japanese media and serves as a vital bridge between farmers in the United States and Japan.
