Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz of Two Tone Studios Hot Shop
Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz of Two Tone Studios will demonstrate their glassblowing process at Pratt Fine Arts Center in the Central District on Friday, October 16, 2026. The husband-and-wife team, who met at Rhode Island School of Design, create hand-blown decorative objects and tableware—bowls, vases, drink ware, cake stands. It's free, and you get to watch the actual making.

Lineup

  • Boyd Sugiki was first introduced to glass at Punahou High School in Honolulu, HI, where he was raised. He went on to receive a BFA in Glass from California College of Arts and Crafts and a MFA in Glass from Rhode Island School of Design. Lisa Zerkowitz has a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara, not far from her native Los Angeles.

  • Two Tone Studios creates contemporary designed hand blown glass objects with a nod to the past. Each unique design is handcrafted by husband and wife team Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz, who met as graduate students at the Rhode Island School of Design. The work they create includes decorative objects and tabletop items such as drink ware, bowls, vases, cake stands and covered dishes.
