Seattle Opera closes its 2025-26 season with Carmen, Georges Bizet's classic opera featuring Grammy-winning mezzo-sopranos J'Nai Bridges and Sasha Cooke in the title role. The production tells the story of the headstrong Carmen, a factory worker and smuggler, and her dangerous relationship with soldier Don José.

Ludovic Morlot took over as Music Director of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra in September 2022. His élan, elegance and intensity on stage have endeared him to audiences and orchestras worldwide, from the Berlin Philharmonic to the Boston Symphony. During his eight years as Music Director of the Seattle Symphony, he pushed the boundaries of traditional concert programming, winning several Grammys.
