Filipino filmmaker Rafael Manuel's "Filipiñana" screens at SIFF Film Center on September 25—a Silver Bear-winning short that examines class and colonial legacies through the lens of a beauty pageant. The 90-seat arthouse venue on Seattle Center is built around salvaged seats from the historic Cinerama Theatre, making it an apt setting for a film about what gets preserved and what gets discarded.
