Gary Jules—the guy behind that haunting "Mad World" cover from Donnie Darko—plays the Ballard Homestead on September 22nd, a 260-seat historic homestead with a built-in stage and grand piano. He's joined by Brad Byrd (indie-rock/alt-country with Fleetwood Mac and Kurt Vile vibes) and others in an all-ages, mostly seated show that leans into the intimate acoustic space the venue does well.

Gary Jules Aguirre Jr. (born March 19, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter, known primarily for his cover version of the Tears for Fears song "Mad World", which he recorded with his friend Michael Andrews for the film Donnie Darko. It became the UK Christmas number-one single of 2003.
