John Powell is a California-based lyrical realist painter born in 1930, known for his floral still life and landscape paintings that incorporate nature and exotic textiles. His work has been recognized internationally, including being named Artist of the Year by WFUNA and having pieces in the permanent collection of the Philatelic Museum at the Palais de Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
Seattle Wind Symphony is a 55-member audition-level woodwind, brass, and percussion ensemble founded in 2011 to present professional quality symphonic wind music to the general public, educators, and students in the Puget Sound region. The ensemble is dedicated to performing compelling literature from diverse composers and inspiring young musicians by modeling high standards of music and performance.
