Local Plants for Natural Dyes and Pigments (in-person)

Anneke Wilder leads a hands-on workshop on extracting natural dyes and pigments from plants at the Center for Urban Horticulture in the University District on Sunday, September 13. If you've wondered how to actually get color from leaves and roots instead of a bottle, this is the place to find out—taught by someone who studied ecology seriously before deciding to make art from it.

Anneke Wilder
Anneke Wilder explored the countryside of her South Carolina home as a young person. Her curiosity about nature has stayed with her wherever she goes. Drawing accompanied her on those journeys. In college she studied biology and ecology in a serious way, then chose to combine both interests in making a career.
