Symphony Tacoma: Sarah Ioannides' Final Concert
Celebrate conductor Sarah Ioannides' final concert with Symphony Tacoma, featuring trombonist Scott Hartman and the Symphony Tacoma Voices performing a program that includes Elgar's overture, a contemporary composition exploring time, Still's groundbreaking symphony incorporating African American spirituals and blues, and an epic rhapsody finale. A pre-concert soundcheck begins at 6pm.

Lineup

  • British conductor, collaborator, and multimedia producer born in Canberra, Australia in 1972. Currently Music Director of Symphony Tacoma and Director of Orchestral Activities at Boston University, she is recognized by the New York Times for her "unquestionable strength and authority" and has conducted on six continents with major orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic and Orchestre National de Lyon.

  • Symphony Tacoma Voices is a 70+ member diverse chorus consisting of professional singers, music educators, and amateur singers from across the South Puget Sound region. Under the direction of Geoffrey Boers since 2002, the ensemble performs regularly with Symphony Tacoma and presents annual standalone concerts exploring a wide array of choral music.
