The Messthetics is an American instrumental trio founded by bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty, formerly of the pioneering punk band Fugazi, alongside guitarist Anthony Pirog. Their music has been described as "jazz punk jam," blending aggression with meditation through entirely instrumental compositions.
