The Okee Dokee Brothers are an independent American folk and American roots children's music duo, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing, from Minneapolis. Their 2012 CD/DVD release Can You Canoe?, with music and videos created during a 2011 paddle down the Mississippi River, won a Grammy for Best Children's Album in the 55th Grammy Awards.
Childhood friends, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing, have been exploring the outdoors together since they were kids growing up in Denver, Colorado. Whether making forts by the neighborhood creek or camping in the mountains, their friendship was built on imagination and adventure.
Justin Lansing is a banjo-wielding melodist who crafts songs shaped by the spirits of his ancestors, and the wisdom of his children. Upon returning to his hometown of Denver, Colorado to grow a family, the acclaimed songwriter (The Okee Dokee Brothers) decided to write and record his first solo album, "Rocky Mountain Time".
