Vandana Nair writes novellas, novelettes, reviews, and essays nurtured from her roots in India. Her work explores gender, class, linguistic diversity, and cultural traditions that still dominate contemporary life. In her stories, she captures the ordinary—rituals, patterns, and dilemmas—unique to the Asian landscape. Fiction can be a way to explore consciousness.
Renee Simms is an associate professor of African American Studies and contributing faculty to English Studies at University of Puget Sound. Originally from Detroit, she received her B.A. in literature from University of Michigan, a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Arizona State University.
