Dámaso Rodríguez is a director and the artistic director of Seattle Rep where he is in production on his fourth season. His tenure includes over 30 productions including the World Premieres of Mother Russia by Lauren Yee, Fancy Dancer by Larissa FastHorse and the upcoming musical Freak The Mighty by Anthony Drew and Ryan Fielding Garrett. The 26-27 season includes a seven-show subscription series of new plays and classics, youth productions, play development workshops, and limited engagement presentations. Upcoming directing projects in production: The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and Amadeus (Seattle Rep); The Play That Goes Wrong (Arizona Theater Company); Peter Pan Goes Wrong (Portland Center Stage), the World Premiere of I'll Be Your Superhero by José Casas (Seattle Children's Theater). Directing projects in development: Fission by Cindy Lou Johnson (commissioned by Seattle Rep); Tragedy: A Comedy by Crystal Skillman & Fred Van Lente Born in Miami, Florida, Dámaso Rodríguez is a Co-Founder of Los Angeles' Furious Theatre (called “one of the fastest-rising ensembles in L.A. stage history” by LA Stage Magazine), where he spent 11 years as Co-Artistic Director. He spent eight seasons in residence at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he served as Associate Artistic Director to Sheldon Epps. Rodríguez has produced and directed a broad range of new and classic plays at some the country’s most prominent regional theaters.
