Hanako O'Leary
Hanako O'Leary is a Seattle-based craft sculptor and installation artist who explores modern feminism through ceramic work, storytelling, and visual language rooted in her Japanese-American heritage. Born and raised by a Japanese mother and American father in the Midwest, she draws inspiration from Japanese folk traditions and her matriarchal lineage to create figurative work about feminine power, sexuality, and love. A 2023 Artist Trust Fellowship recipient, her major works include the Izanami series and exhibitions at the Frye Art Museum and Gallery 4Culture.Browse all performers
