Kasbo, born Carl Garsbo, has established himself as a sensation across electronic music with his transformative, emotional sound. He reinforced that notion with his album The Learning of Urgency, continuing to expand on the thoughtful and immersive world he’s built throughout his career. Ever a creative mind, Kasbo spent several years exploring new musical territory and deepening his relationship with music itself. Time spent at home in Sweden galvanized him to focus on what he knew best, the music. He honed his DJing, shared records with friends, and bonded over nostalgic memories and music that helped guide his creative outlook. During this period, he gravitated toward the minimal subtlety of euphoric club music, became infatuated with hypnotic trip-hop from artists like Moby and Massive Attack, and explored the ambient melodies of Rival Consoles, Max Cooper, and Ólafur Arnalds. Now equipped with a collection of inspiring musical influences, Kasbo continued to spend time working out of studios close to home. Over the years, he has become a regular at Svenska Grammofonstudion in his hometown of Gothenburg, a historic studio that has hosted the likes of Max Martin and other Swedish icons, as well as Stockholm’s Arresten, a serene and unique former jail transformed into a recording studio on the island of Skeppsholmen.
