Nobuko Miyamoto
Nobuko Miyamoto is a Japanese American multidisciplinary dancer, singer, songwriter, choreographer, and community artist who emerged as a key voice in the Asian American movement of the 1970s. Originally a dancer in Hollywood films and Broadway productions, she co-created the landmark 1973 album 'A Grain of Sand' with Chris Iijima and Charlie Chin, and founded Great Leap in 1978, a community-based performing arts organization dedicated to using music, theater, and dance for social change and cultural solidarity.Browse all performers
