Indigo Girls are an American folk rock duo consisting of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, who met in elementary school in Decatur, Georgia and began performing together in high school. Since forming as Indigo Girls in 1985, they have released numerous albums and are recognized as queer icons and tireless activists for causes including gun control, indigenous rights, and environmental protection.
