Matthew Aucoin

Matthew Aucoin is an American composer, conductor, pianist, and writer born in 1990, best known for his operas including Eurydice and Crossing. A 2018 MacArthur Fellow, his orchestral and chamber music has been performed by leading artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma to the Philadelphia Orchestra, and commissioned by institutions including the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall. He is a co-founder of the American Modern Opera Company and serves as a Visiting Professor of Composition and Conducting at Boston University.
