Jen Shyu
Jen Shyu is an East Timorese-Taiwanese-American experimental jazz vocalist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer born in 1978. A 2025 Rome Prize Fellow, 2019 Guggenheim Fellow, and Doris Duke Artist, she is known for her groundbreaking genre-bending performances and multilingual artistry. Shyu has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and is widely regarded as one of the most creative vocalists in contemporary improvised music.Browse all performers
