Mark Morris is an American choreographer and dancer born in Seattle in 1956, praised by The New York Times as "the most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical." He founded the Mark Morris Dance Group in 1980 and has created over 150 works, while also conducting orchestras and directing opera productions at major institutions worldwide.
