Woody Allen is an American filmmaker, writer, actor, and comedian born in 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career as a stand-up comedian in Greenwich Village during the 1960s and as a comedy writer before transitioning to filmmaking, becoming a prominent auteur of the New Hollywood era.
