Molly Vaughan

Molly Jae Vaughan is a Seattle-based multidisciplinary artist working in performance, sculpture, painting, and textile arts. Since 2012, she has created Project 42, a series of works honoring the lives of murdered transgender and gender non-conforming Americans, with the number referencing the symbolic average lifespan of someone in this community. A 2017 Betty Bowen Award recipient and current Professor of Art at Bellevue College, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutions including the Seattle Art Museum, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and numerous contemporary art centers.
