De Wain Valentine
De Wain Valentine (1936-2022) was an American minimalist sculptor and key figure of the Light and Space movement that emerged in California in the 1960s. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, he moved to Los Angeles in 1965 and became a pioneer in using industrial plastics and polyester resin to create monumental, translucent sculptures that captured what he called "transparent colored space." His work is characterized by luminous, color-infused resin pieces that engage light and the surrounding environment.Browse all performers
