American photographer and activist born in 1953, known for intimate snapshot-style photography exploring emotions, relationships, and bohemian LGBT subcultural communities. Her seminal work 'The Ballad of Sexual Dependency' (1986) documented the post-punk and gay subcultures while addressing the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s. She is a founding member of P.A.I.N.
