The Fiery Furnaces are an American indie rock band formed in 2000 in Brooklyn, New York, by siblings Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger, originally from Oak Park, Illinois. Known for their ambitious, highly conceptual releases that blend indie rock, psychedelic, and art rock elements, the band is renowned for dense, allusive lyrics and formally inventive compositions.
