Rajaa Gharbi

Rajaa Gharbi is an international Tunisian-American painter, poet, sociolinguist, and filmmaker who explores the intersection of language, culture, and visual art. Born and trained in Tunisia where she worked as a multimedia artist with the National Puppet Theatre, she has established herself in Seattle for over 30 years, creating work that merges lettering, imagery, and interdisciplinary installations. Her practice investigates ancient alphabets and scripts from across Africa and the world to reveal universal human connections through written language.
