Sasha Wortzel
Sasha Wortzel is an award-winning filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist based in New York and working between Brooklyn and Miami. Using video, installation, sculpture, and sound, she explores how past and present are inextricably linked through resonant spaces and their hauntings, with a focus on narratives of political resistance and structures of power around race, gender, desire, and landscape. Her feature documentary RIVER OF GRASS (2025) won the Pare Lorentz Award and Hot Docs Joan VanDuzer Special Jury Prize, and her work has been exhibited at MoMA, the New Museum, and Brooklyn Museum.Browse all performers
