Shann Thomas is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and visual artist based in the Seattle area who began their practice in 2010 at Reel Grrls. Their work spans documentary, experimental, and narrative forms, with a focus on connecting social justice and visual imagery to recover and reclaim the humanity of historically marginalized peoples. Notable projects include Gender Gems, a large-scale photo installation honoring transgender and gender diverse elders in the Puget Sound region, which received 2018 GAP Award funding.Browse all performers
