Sima Elizabeth Shefrin is a textile artist, illustrator, and activist born in Ottawa in 1949 who has worked in fabric arts for over forty years. Known for integrating folk art traditions with activism around feminism, anti-war sentiments, and Jewish heritage, she created the internationally touring Middle East Peace Quilt project and authored the acclaimed Embroidered Cancer Comic, which features sixty hand-stitched embroidered line drawings.Browse all performers
