Meng Huang is a Chinese painter born in Beijing in 1966 who graduated from the Art Department of Henan University in 1992 and now lives and works between Beijing and Berlin. Known for his melancholy paintings of railway tracks and large-scale landscapes that symbolize the alienation of modern life, he paints outdoors on monumental canvases attached to scaffolding, blending Western and Chinese artistic traditions. His work has been featured in significant exhibitions including the 'Fuck Off' exhibition at Eastlink Gallery Shanghai in 1999, and he works across multiple media including painting, photography, and installation.
