Fauxnique (Monique Jenkinson)

Fauxnique (Monique Jenkinson) is a San Francisco-based artist, choreographer, performer, and writer whose work dwells at the intersection of contemporary dance and cabaret. She made history as the first cisgender woman to be crowned a pageant-winning drag queen (Miss Trannyshack 2003) and is known for exploring the performance of femininity as a powerful, vulnerable, and subversive act. Her performances have toured nationally and internationally across nightclubs, theaters, and museums, and she is the author of the memoir 'Faux Queen: A Life in Drag.'
