Alisa Banks is a visual artist based in Dallas, Texas who creates sculptural books, textile collages, and mixed media works exploring identity politics through the lenses of home, terrain, and the body. Drawing from her Louisiana Creole heritage and the African diaspora, she incorporates traditional craft techniques and found materials including paper, fibers, photographs, and natural elements in her hand-stitched work. Her pieces are held in major collections including the Smithsonian Institution, US Library of Congress, The Schomburg Center, and The British Library.
