Jimmie Johnson’s racing journey began at just five years old, riding dirt bikes in his Southern California hometown. His natural talent quickly set him apart, and by his teens, he was already nationally ranked. At 15, a scout from a major car manufacturer discovered him, launching a career that would redefine success in motorsports. Now, more than three decades later, Jimmie remains a fierce competitor both on and off the track. Over the course of his career, Jimmie – better known as No. 48 – became a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, sharing the record with stock car racing legends Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. To date, he has won 83 times in the NASCAR Cup Series, and his run of five championships in a row (2006-2010) is one of the greatest ever seen in sports. In 2024, Jimmie was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and he is the only race car driver in history to be named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year. Eager to embrace a new challenge, Johnson spent two seasons racing in the INDYCAR Series and was named the 2022 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year.
