Jeff Tain Watts
Jeff "Tain" Watts is an American jazz drummer born January 20, 1960 in Easton, Pennsylvania. A founding member of the Wynton Marsalis Quartet (1981-1988) and longtime collaborator with Branford Marsalis, Watts has won seven Grammy Awards and is recognized for his innovative approach to jazz drumming, combining explosive power with elegant swing and compositional sophistication. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in Music Composition in 2017 and has performed with Betty Carter, Michael Brecker, Alice Coltrane, Ravi Coltrane, and numerous other jazz luminaries.Browse all performers
