Andrew Bishop is a versatile saxophonist, clarinetist, flautist, composer, and educator who serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the University of Michigan Department of Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation. His three acclaimed recordings—De Profundis, Time and Imaginary Time, and the Hank Williams Project—have received widespread recognition from the New York Times, Downbeat Magazine, and All About Jazz. Bishop has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries including Geri Allen, Kenny Burrell, Gerald Cleaver, and John Zorn, while also receiving over 25 commissions from professional organizations and recognition from ASCAP, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Andrew W.
