robert-bresson.com was founded in 2001 by Trond S. Trondsen and Doug Cummings as a tribute to the French filmmaker Robert Bresson. Built for scholars and admirers of his work, it has grown into one of the most comprehensive online resources dedicated to his life and art. Our mission is to research, preserve, and share materials related to Bresson's filmmaking career. In keeping with his famously private nature, we focus on his artistic legacy rather than his personal life. We strive to present rare and meaningful content not easily found elsewhere, made possible through collaboration with filmmakers, crew members, authors, editors, researchers, and photographers who have generously granted permission to publish their work here.
