Originally founded in 1972, the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra was adopted under the BPA umbrella in the spring of 1993 and since then has served a musically rich role in our community uniting artists spanning generations and skill levels, and coming from all walks of life, to share their love of music and learn from each other.
The Kim Sisters (Korean: 김시스터즈) were a female vocal group from South Korea. The trio consisted of Sook-ja "Sue", Ai-ja "Aija", and Min-ja "Mia" Kim. They primarily made their career in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s. Formed in 1953, they are known for being the first Korean music group to achieve success in the U.S. market during the 1960s, and for performing more than 20 times on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Modest Mussorgsky (1839–1881) was a Russian composer and one of The Five, a group of nationalist composers who pioneered a uniquely Russian musical identity. He is best known for his opera Boris Godunov, the orchestral tone poem Night on Bald Mountain, and the piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition, works inspired by Russian history, folklore, and national themes.
