The Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band—Seattle's stationary take on a march band—plays Sousa and brass classics from the bleachers at the Ballard Locks on August 9th at 9 p.m. Watch them perform alongside their drill team and a majorette who does her thing entirely seated. It's free, weird in the best way, and you get the locks' ship traffic as a bonus.

Bringing their own party with them, the Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band, Seattle’s own non-marching march band, plays the greatest hits of band music, rousing classics by John Philip Sousa, Henry Fillmore and more. What sets them apart? You can expect appearances by the Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band Drill Team, and the world’s only Sedentary Majorette, who performs thrilling feats of seated baton twirling.
