The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and Haitian choreographer Jeanguy Saintus bring a world premiere to the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute on Friday, October 9—a collaboration blending Afro-contemporary dance with Caribbean and Haitian cultural traditions. Jeanguy Saintus is an internationally renowned Haitian choreographer, dancer, and educator born in 1964 in Port-au-Prince. He founded Ayikodans, Haiti's premiere professional dance company, and developed a distinctive Afro-contemporary technique that blends Caribbean culture, Haitian folklore, Vodou spirituality, and African, Amerindian, and French influences.
