Jeanguy Saintus is an internationally renowned Haitian choreographer, dancer, and educator born in 1964 in Port-au-Prince. He founded Ayikodans, Haiti's premiere professional dance company, and developed a distinctive Afro-contemporary technique that blends Caribbean culture, Haitian folklore, Vodou spirituality, and African, Amerindian, and French influences. In 2008, he received the prestigious Prince Claus Award from the Netherlands for expanding the possibilities of dance and fostering pride in Haitian cultural identity.
