The Boeing Employees' Concert Band was formed in 1979, as a club in The Boeing Company Recreation Unit, through the initial efforts of Matt Thornton. The first conductor was Howard Akers, a composer/conductor and arranger who was respected as a fine musician throughout the country. He also donated a large collection of music from his library as editor of Carl Fisher Music Company.

The Pacific Cascade Big Band (PCBB) plays swing music from the big band era in the 1930's-1950's, along with some more contemporary pieces, in a lively, enjoyable, and upbeat way. The group performs at public parks, mall stages, clubs, retirement homes, and other venues in the greater Seattle area.

We are currently looking for a guitarist and keyboardist/pianist in either a regular or occasional substitute role. If you have an interest or want more information, please contact us. The West Seattle Big Band is a community-based 18-piece music ensemble that plays Big Band swing and jazz standards at events throughout the greater Seattle and Puget Sound region.

Northwest Swing, part of the Boeing Employees' Concert Band, is an all-volunteer 20-piece big band dedicated to the fun of jazz. We strive to bring enjoyment through music to all those around us. Our repertoire includes everything from swing classics such as Jersey Bounce, Hay Burner, and String of Pearls, to up-beat swing pieces from Charles Mingus, to standards from Miles Davis, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, and…
