Born in Croydon, South London on March 7, 1946, Matthew Fisher's musical talent was nurtured from an early age. He had piano lessons beginning at age six. By the time he'd reached his teen years, the family's front room had been taken over by an assortment of musical instruments, including guitars and a Bechstein piano. Matthew briefly attended London's Guildhall School of Music. He loved the music of J.S.
