  JODI is a pioneering internet art collective founded in 1994 by Joan Heemskerk (born 1968, Netherlands) and Dirk Paesmans (born 1965, Belgium). They were among the first artists to investigate and subvert conventions of the Internet, creating web art, software art, and artistic computer game modifications.

  Gretchen Bender (1951–2004) was a pioneering American multi-disciplinary artist who interrogated mass media and late twentieth-century capitalism through video, television, and computer-generated graphics. A key figure in 1980s New York's art scene alongside the 'Pictures' generation, she created large-scale installations and electronic theatre works that subverted mainstream media platforms, including music videos…
