Immolation is an American death metal band from Yonkers, New York, formed in 1986. Considered one of the leaders of the New York death metal scene alongside Incantation, Mortician, and Suffocation, they are known for their dissonant harmonic patterns, complex guitar work, and influential debut album Dawn of Possession (1991).
