Born in Hilo, Hawaii, Siobhan Kekoa (Barrett) is a mixed Afro-Indigenous Wabanaki-descent professional Designer and Artist, Traditional Medicine Practitioner, and disabled Air Force Veteran. Her work is steeped in her ancestral Indigenous traditions and each piece is intentionally created with Good Medicine. She has exhibited and sold her art at shows and galleries around the Greater Seattle area since 2015, and loves being able to offer beautiful, lasting pieces in many forms. Her mediums include oil, watercolor, and mixed media paintings, drawings, and quillwork jewelry. Her Indigenous Elders of her Bear Clan Wabanaki blood lineage have honored her in learning, carrying forward, preserving, and sharing their unique ancestral style of quill earrings, traditions, and history. As a 5th generation artist, she is deeply grateful for the trust placed in her to design new bead patterns, styles, and her signature finish. Her pieces are dedicated to her Elder Shadowhawke, Tomiki Bear, and Grandmothers.
