The Underhills are a six-piece acoustic group formed in Bloomington, Indiana in 2012. Masterfully weaving together guitars, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and bass, the band creates an original sound that is evocative of old-time folk and bluegrass music, while experimenting with new ideas and grooves not typically heard on these instruments. Inspired by the wooded hills of southern Indiana, they combine rich harmonies and virtuosic instrumental ability to carve out their own niche within bluegrass music. They released their first self-produced EP in the spring of 2012, “Songs From Delon,” a collection of songs that shows a band beginning to define their own sound. This was followed up in the summer of 2013 with “Outside in the Morning,” featuring the band’s current lineup and highlighting their evolution as an ensemble. Left to Right: Edward Joyner – Guitar, Nick Harley – Guitar, Diederik van Wassenaer – Violin, Peter Doyle – Mandolin, Connor Grimm – Bass, Ryan Heimlich – Banjo.
